Blaenafon cheddar is a family run business situated in the heart of the Blaenavon world heritage site. We are one of Wales most awarded cheesemakers producing specialty handmade Welsh cheddar cheeses and the worlds only Protected status Caerphilly cheese made with milk from the littlest Dairy in Caerphilly. We also produce a soft Welsh goats’ cheese. (please note that the Caerphilly & goats’ cheese are stock limited, so please ring before visiting if these are a specific requirement) Tourism is an important part of our World Heritage town existence. Every visit is important to ourselves & the town. As well as producing the above we also offer a selection of Welsh produce, local Welsh ales, Danzy Jones whisky Black Mountain liqueur, which is an apple & blackcurrant brandy.
Explore the fantastic SSSI landscape either by foot with (well behaved four legged friends), as we have sheep & wildlife free grazing.

Big Pit Mining museum, Blaenavon Iron works and the Blaenavon Workman's Hall & museum, Blaenavon World Heritage centre are a few of the other attractions.
The Lion Hotel & restaurant are open for food from 11am and have won many awards for their menus. Our award winning 1868 mature cheddar is aged in the ancient cellars below the building, the site of the 1868 riot.
