Description

This contemporary, sea view, barn conversion on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast offers a fire pit, barbecue and hot tub for adults and wooden play apparatus, games and toys for the children both inside and out.

The property is located just off the main road through Southerndown in an enviable position overlooking the rugged coastline and bay. Southerndown Beach can be reached via a 0.5-mile footpath located directly opposite the property or, for those who prefer to drive, the public car park serving the beach is just 350 yards away. The village pub/restaurant is just 100 yards from the property. There is plenty of coastline to explore with Ogmore-by-Sea being just 1.5 miles away and the coastal resort of Porthcawl can be reached in 10 miles. If you fancy a spot of retail therapy, there is a designer outlet village with a cinema and food court in Bridgend just 7 miles away. Also 7 miles away are the historic towns of Cowbridge and Llantwit Major with their independent shops. The main cities of Cardiff and Swansea are only 35 minutes away. In between all these are lovely coastal walks and plenty of coffee shops and natural beauty spots to keep you busy.

This conversion of an old stable and forge has been completed to the highest standard with fantastic attention to detail in its decor. As you enter 'The Stable', there are stairs up to the first floor living space. The lounge/kitchen/diner has been purposefully placed in an elevated position to make the most of the spectacular views out towards Southerndown Beach. Relax on the sofa, which has been positioned to make the most of the views and warm your toes in front of the wood burner. Snuggle up and enjoy the cosy atmosphere while watching your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine and ample storage, – making it easy for you to rustle up a hearty breakfast to start the day or an evening meal to enjoy around the dining table. Tucked behind the lounge is a separate snug/study, with an armchair, where you can read a book, relax or plan out your next walking route with the local guides and maps that have been provided. There is a utility area at the end of the corridor with a washing machine and tumble dryer, ideal for cleaning down your beach clothes and towels. Completing the first floor is the family shower room with a shower, hand basin and WC. Downstairs on the ground floor is the 'Stable' family bedroom, where there is a double and one single bed, ideally suited for two adults and a child or two older children. There is adequate storage for your clothes and belongings. With a stable door configuration for the windows.
The family bedroom known as 'The Forge' is reached by going through the main door and into its own separate entrance next door to the property. There is a king-size bed and a set of bunk beds (suitable for children to the age of 14 years) with a Smart TV located on the bedroom wall. This room has been purposefully configured for a family due to there being no access from the main part of the property so that parents and children can stay together. There is a convenient en-suite shower room with WC. The family room leads directly onto the garden.

The garden of this property has been fantastically thought out and has really made use of the space to ensure guests can enjoy as much time outdoors together as possible. Fully enclosed, it is the perfect area for you, your family and even your four-legged friend to enjoy. Relax and enjoy the sea views from the hot tub, which is sheltered under a pagoda allowing you to enjoy it in all weathers. There is a patio seating area directly in front of the hot tub where you can enjoy a meal alfresco or just chat with those taking a dip. Carry on through the gravel area of the garden where an additional raised seating area and firepit has been provided to make the most of the view and keep warm on cooler evenings. There is also a play area provided on artificial turf, where your little ones can be the captains of their very own ship! Garden games are also provided for big and little kids alike. There is off-road parking for up to four cars on the gravel drive.
