Event

Christmas reindeer trail at Dyffryn Gardens

Get all the cosy festive family feels this Christmas at Dyffryn Gardens.

Starts:
December 6, 2025
Ends:
January 4, 2026

Description

6 December - 4 January

Father Christmas has lost his reindeer and needs you to help him find them, they’re hiding in the gardens and when you discover them, they’ll have games for you to play. Games like stick the nose on the reindeer, snowball and spoon race, guess the Christmas song and more. The kind of fun that gets every member of the family, from youngest to oldest, laughing together.

After finding all the specially made wooden reindeers (made using recycled materials and wood found in the gardens), you can do some Christmassy colouring in the cosily decorated second-hand bookshop and then warm up with a hot chocolate and seasonal treat at the Gardens Café.

All our indoor spaces have been adorned with hundreds of handmade decorations (also made by our team of volunteers) and there’s a lovely opportunity for a family photo in front of our giant “Nadolig Llawen” sign at the end of an avenue of Christmas trees.

The trail route is accessible and suitable for mobility aids and buggies, there’s no booking and this is a free event (normal admission applies, entry is free to National Trust members). We also welcome dogs (on leads) at Dyffryn Gardens so you can bring every member of your family along.

This is a mostly outdoor event so dress for the weather and don’t forget a jolly Christmas jumper (we also strongly encourage reindeer ears and Santa hats!).
