Gileston Manor Estate launches luxury B&B offering

Gileston Manor Estate in the Vale of Glamorgan is now taking bookings for its 14th century Manor House offered on a luxury B&B basis, in addition to its eight self-contained courtyard cottages.

Awarded five stars by Visit Wales, the Estate, which dates back to the 1320s, has been lovingly restored to its former glory over the past 12 years by owners Lorraine Garrad Jones and Josh Llewellyn.

The historic outbuildings have been converted into eight unique self-contained cottages for up to 24 guests, many of which have retained their original 14th century features, including a bakery oven, kiln oven and cheese press, and some of which are pet friendly.

The Estate’s Queen Anne Grade II* listed Manor House, which has breath-taking sea views and a countryside setting, is also available for exclusive stays and breaks and can be booked out in its entirety or on a luxury B&B basis. The seven individually designed suites for up to 16 guests have been conceived and styled by Lady of the Manor Lorraine, taking inspiration from around the world. Princess Diana’s dress designer David Emanuel has also exclusively designed one suite offering an elegant, tranquil and luxurious retreat for couples. Using the very best in furniture and furnishings gathered from around the world, guests could find themselves staying in the Japanese room, the Versailles suite, the Antoinette room, the Hamptons suite, the Highlands room or the Raffles room inspired by the Raffles Hotel in Singapore.

Sleeping 40 guests, the whole Estate, combining the Manor House, courtyard accommodation, Lotus marquee and grounds and gardens is also available to rent exclusively for luxury stays, making it the perfect destination for family get togethers and weekend celebrations.

With the Estate boasting its own Helipad and nine acres of land overlooking the Heritage coast, guests can explore the beautifully manicured gardens and grounds, which are home to alpacas, Swiss valley sheep, ducks, black swans and rare white peacocks.

Owner Lorraine said: “Having lived and lovingly restored our Estate over the last decade, we’re now in a position to open our doors to welcome guests into our accommodation, to complement the weddings we already host.

“Drawing inspiration from around the world, we’ve restored our Manor House and outbuildings, adding some modern twists, while retaining its original character and charm.

“With our historic courtyard accommodation, spectacular manor house, exquisite gardens and panoramic sea views, we believe we’re the perfect location for guests looking for a luxurious and tranquil countryside retreat.”

Gileston Manor Estate is located in the Vale of Glamorgan, the most southerly point in Wales and just a few minutes from Cardiff International Airport and the capital Cardiff. The area boasts a dramatic coastline, award-winning beaches, rolling countryside and picturesque towns.
