Nantgarw China Works reopens for Group Visits

Visiting the bottle kilns at Nantgarw

Located just six miles north of Cardiff Nantgarw China Works & Museum is a unique and highly affordable destination for group visitors of all ages and interests.

The historic and atmospheric site which, two hundred years ago, produced the finest porcelain ever made is now part museum, and part pottery where highly skilled workers still use traditional techniques to make exceptional heritage and contemporary pottery and porcelain.

Groups can be catered for as short two hour visits (£7.50 pp) including tea and cake on arrival, a talk on the history and a forty five minute guided tour of the site. Longer visits include lunch and demonstrations of making porcelain, moulds and clay smoking pipes. As well as a superb collection of priceless porcelain the site is a scheduled ancient monument,  retail shop tearooms and parking for cars and coaches.
