Lilac Cottage is an attractive and well-equipped two bedroom stone barn conversion located between Abergavenny and Crickhowell in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park. It is ideal for cyclists, walkers, runners, adventure seekers and active families alike. The cottage is located in a small private courtyard serving four properties and has two allocated parking spaces and a spacious purpose-built secure bike shed.
Lilac Cottage sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms (one with king size bed and one with two single beds). Both bedrooms have beautiful vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. The upstairs bathroom has a full-sized bath with shower over. The cottage has a characterful open plan downstairs with a wood-burning stove and is comfortably furnished with a large corner sofa, two armchairs, a solid oak dining table to seat 6 and a well-equipped kitchen area. There is a separate entrance hall which is a useful place to store those muddy boots and coats after your adventures in the hills! There is a 40-inch Smart 4K TV in the lounge and an additional 32-inch Flat screen HD TV in the main bedroom. Complimentary Wi-Fi is included and the cottage is also equipped with a Bluetooth stereo.
Outside and accessed via a solid oak stable door, there is a small enclosed garden with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

Lovers of both art and books are also well catered for.
Food and Drink
Abergavenny and the surrounding area offer many options for eating out from country pubs to takeaways to Michelin star establishments. Local pubs include the Tafarn y Bont, in Govilon, which is a fifteen-minute walk away, does good reasonably-priced food, offers a selection of real ale and cider and has a warm and inviting fire. The Towpath Inn in Gilwern is located right on the towpath, is a popular stopping point on the canal, for boaters, cyclists and walkers alike and offers a gin bar and exciting and varied 'pop-up' food at weekends. The Dragons Head Inn in Llangenny is a delightful, traditional country pub with a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. The Angel Hotel in Abergavenny has won national awards for its afternoon teas and both The Dragon Inn and The Bear Inn in Crickhowell are real favourites. For wonderful Italian food with a great family atmosphere, we think that Pizzorante in Abergavenny is hard to beat.

The Big Pit at nearby Blaenavon is well worth a visit and makes a fantastic rainy day option. Retired miners take you under the ground into the mines and both entertain and shock you with their own real life accounts of life in the mines. Amazingly, this fantastic attraction is free - although they do suggest that you make a donation.
Other options include a mooch around the shops and coffee houses of Abergavenny or Crickhowell, a visit to Abergavenny Castle and Museum, LLanthony Priory, Raglan Castle or Tretower Court, fun at the water slides and swimming pool complex at Ebbw Vale or a visit to the outlet village and Super Tubing at Festival Park. The many attractions of Cardiff are less than an hour away by car and the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley are only 30 minutes’ drive away. Sugar Loaf Vineyard has attractive grounds for the kids to play in while you enjoy tasting the wine whilst admiring the view from the beautiful café.
