Amara is perfect for a family holiday, just outside the attractive little hamlet of Llanfihangel Crucorney. There are great walks and cycle routes onto The Black Mountains from the door and glorious panoramic views over the eastern side of The Black Mountains and The Skirrid. The name Amara means 'eternal' and the timeless beauty of the Black Mountains is seen all around the cottage from the windows, conservatory and the lovely private garden.

Why not stay in this light and airy bungalow and explore the area on foot, by bike or by car. When you have seen Llanthony Priory, Raglan Castle and the busy market town of Abergavenny why not climb The Sugarloaf or start The Beacons Way which begins in Llanthony village and this footpath winds west for 95 miles across The Brecon Beacons National Park. For keen cyclists there is safe bike storage in the huge garden workshop and only a short pedal away is The Black Mountains Cycle Track - an award winning mountain bike trail. Walk to the ancient pub The Skirrid Inn and only a 5 minute drive to Abergavenny.

It is a short walk about 10 minutes up to the village of Llanvihangel Crucorney with the supposedly most haunted pub in Wales, The Skirrid Inn; there is also a popular little village shop and garage. Or 5 minutes drive away try The Crown in Pantygelli - " a real rural treasure that demands a visit" (The Daily Telegraph).

Abergavenny just 5 miles away with Spectacular mountain scenery, a bustling market town and foods galore - Abergavenny has all the ingredients for a great holiday.

Famed for its annual Food Festival where hundreds of the world's culinary stars get together, and you can enjoy tasting sessions, master classes and talks. And there a few fantastic eateries in the area. For a special occasion, try The Hardwick, The Angel, The Skirrid or The Walnut Tree.

Abergavenny is a great base for fantastic walking, mountain biking and road biking in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. It's easy to reach (just half an hour from the Severn Bridge).
