Southern Wales Tourism Celebrates Being Nominated For Top Industry Award

Group Leisure AwardSouthern Wales Tourism, the body responsible for promoting South East Wales as a holiday destination to the Travel Trade has been nominated for a prestigious industry award.

Organised by Group Leisure Magazine, the annual Group Leisure Awards set the benchmark for recognising excellence throughout the group travel industry and Southern Wales Tourism are trilled to be a finalist in the Best Tourist Board category.

Pat Crimp, Chair of Southern Wales Tourism said "We are extremely pleased to be shortlisted in the Best Tourist Board category in this year's Group Leisure Awards. Our partners have all worked hard over the last year to ensure we present our region's product offer to the travel trade in the best and most flexible way across a range of channels. We are pleased that this has been recognised by the groups market at this award ceremony"

Southern Wales Tourism's Project Officer Beth Cummings and Project Assistant Huw Davies were present at the awards ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Wednesday night. 

Beth Cummings said "We are thrilled to have been named as a finalist in these prestigious awards.  We'd like to thank those who nominated and voted for us and would also like to thank our partners and the local tourism providers with whom we work and who've helped us achieve this recognition" 

Huw Davies added "To be recognised in this way is a real privilege.  We have always sought to promote and encourage travel to South East Wales and being nominated for this award confirms this area as one that is appealing to the groups market"
