Golf
With the Ryder Cup destined for Newport’s Celtic Manor Resort in 2010 there has never been a better time to tee off in Southern Wales. As well as the world renowned courses at Celtic Manor, St Pierre at Chepstow and Royal Porthcawl there are countless other courses throughout the region which offer golfers of all abilities plenty of challenges.
The Pyle and Kenfig courses are excellent lynx courses which as well as providing a stern challenge enable the golfer to take in some breathtaking views of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast.
Not all the top courses are along the coast. Head inland for some other high quality courses. Dewstow Golf Club as the Severn Bridge as a dramatic backdrop while the Roll Golf Club is situated in the estate of Charles Rolls of Rolls Royce fame. The West Monmouthshire Golf Club is the highest in Wales and with the 14th see standing at over 1500 feet above sea level you can be assured of some spectacular views of the Brecon Beacons.
