Celebrate the Great Outdoors

Wales Valleys Walking Festival
With such an abundance of walking trails, it's only natural for us to have an Kenfig National Nature Reserveabundance of walking festivals.

The biggest is the Wales Valleys Walking Festival being held this September for the seventh time.  Bigger and better than ever before the festival includes five new walks in its 38 walk programme.  The programme encompasses some long distance trails for those of you who are keen walkers and some shorter routes suitable for children (or those of you who aren't so keen)

The walks themselves are led by experienced guides whose local knowledge adds to the experience

You'll need to book yourself on to one of these walks in advance but the good news is that they're all free.

More information is available here or you can download a copy of the festival's guide here

Bridgend's Love2Walk Festival
There are many other local walking festivals including Bridgend's Love2Walk festival.  The usual standard walks of various lengths and difficulties are available but you might like to try some a little bit different.  Alternative walks include Nordic walking, star gazing, zorbing on water and wild food foraging.

More information on this festival is available on their website
